Westmoreland Coal Company in Colorado Springs is to join the U.S. broad-market Russell 3000 index when Russell Investments reconstitutes its indexes next week, according to a company news release.
Reconstructed annually, Russell ranks the nation’s 4,000 largest U.S. stocks by total market capitalization.
Membership means automatic inclusion in the small-cap Russell 2000(R) index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes.
Westmoreland recently listed on the NASDAQ Global Market exchange and is the oldest independent coal company in the U.S.
