California-based The Bascom Group has completed its acquisition of a pair of apartment complexes — one in the Lowry redevelopment footprint in Aurora and another in Thornton — for $31.6 million, the company announced today.

In partnership with the Carlyle Group, Bascom purchased the 450-unit, 14.5-acre Fairways at Lowry for $16.65 million and the Village at Coronado, a 390-unit complex on 11.6 acres, for $15 million.

Financing for the deal was completed through Freddie Mac.

Bascom owns and operates a portfolio of 90 multifamily communities totaling 27,468 units across nine states.
