With 28 sales in the past 40 days, Oakwood’s Green Valley Ranch turns doubters to believers; free Haagen-Dazs today

“People come in here not believing they can buy a home,” says Oakwood Sales Rep Chris Kennedy at Green Valley Ranch, who’s watched 28 families do exactly that in the past 40 days. “They’re shocked that they can often buy for less than it costs them to rent, and they’re shocked they can buy a new home for less than an old one.” One of those buying couples, Kennedy says, was playing golf at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, only to be sidetracked by a billboard reading “Monthly payments starting at $860.” “They walked in still wearing their golf gear,” he adds. “They said, ‘This is too good to be true.'”

Of course, you can see Green Valley Ranch Golf Club (Oakwood buyers use the driving range for free) and Oakwood’s collections of larger Parkwood and Geneva Square homes nearby. Five of those have sold in the past three weeks – indicator of an emerging move-up market. Meanwhile, Green Valley Ranch homeowners pay absolutely no HOA dues.
