Getting your player ready...
For this one, you might want a bushel of strawberries and a bucket of cream. John Isner (in hat) and Nicolas Mahut will play each other in the first round of Wimbledon. Last year, the two played the longest match in tennis history, with Isner winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (3), 70-68 in a match that lasted 11 hours, 5 minutes stretched over three days. “It’s going to be pretty nuts,” Isner said. “I couldn’t believe it. I joked with him earlier in the week, last week, and said, ‘Watch us play each other.’ And he said, ‘No, there’s no way. That’s not even funny.’ ” The match will take place — or begin at least — on Tuesday.
