Grilling plans for Father’s Day shouldn’t be dampened by the weather tomorrow – as long as you are using a gas grill.

Sunday is expected be a little bit cooler with Denver highs expected in the low 80s. There is a 30 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

There are still fire restrictions in the eastern and southwestern part of the state. Charcoal grils are prohibited under warnings.

The storms rolling through the eastern plains today should pass by 8 p.m. tonight, when a severe thunderstorm watch expires.

The beginning of the week is expected to start out much cooler, with highs in the upper 60s.

“Monday looks to be the best chance for precipitation,” said Kyle Fredin of the National Weather Service in Boulder.
