Andrew Proctor, a 2011 graduate of Summit High, was killed early Saturday morning in a trail biking accident.
According to the Summit County Coroner, Proctor, 18, apparently rounded a corner too fast on County Road 124 in Summit Cove just after 2 a.m. Saturday, left the roadway and went into an embankment. After being ejected from the bike, Proctor, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained trauma to the head and neck, which was the cause of death according to the coroner.
The coroner’s press releases stated that 911 was called after a homeowner nearby heard the crash shortly after 2 a.m. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.
