Real estate veteran Jack O’Connor is changing the name of his company to the Denver 100 from Prestige Realty Services.
The name change is the result of an “amicable” settlement of a three-month old lawsuit between the managing partners of RE/MAX Professionals and Prestige Realty Services.
The settlement was reached on Monday and announced today.
RE/MAX Professionals, with 375 agents serving central and south metropolitan Denver, had been formed in April 2009 from the merger of Prestige Real Estate Group and RE/MAX Professionals, Inc.
In November, 2010, managing partners Leeann Iacino and Jack O’Connor announced they would leave the partnership to launch Prestige Realty Services. Under terms of the settlement, Jack O’Connor will open the new firm, The Denver 100, LLC. O’Connor said that Prestige Realty Services, going forward, will practice under the new name, The Denver 100, with a website at TheDenver-100.com.

“This is settlement that allows both of our companies to focus on how to best serve our buyers’ and sellers’ real estate needs,” said O’Connor. The Denver 100, to follow a full-service, hybrid model focusing on top selling agents, has offices at 385 Inverness Parkway, Suite 270, in Inverness Business Park.
“We’re glad to move ahead with this,” said Mike Burns, broker/managing partner in RE/MAX Professionals along with Brad Whitehouse and Alan J. Smith, in announcing the agreement. “Our concentration now is on positioning our company for a market we believe will be full of opportunity in coming years.”
RE/MAX Professionals will continue to market under its 20-year-old trade name, represented by eight offices around the metro area, including Cherry Creek, Downtown/Highlands, Castle Pines/Douglas County, Denver Tech Center, Highlands Ranch, Ken-Caryl, Denver West, and Southwest Plaza.
