An employee at an Aurora cell phone store chased a thief out the door and was run down by a woman who was driving his getaway car, police said today.
The store and the employee were not named. Her injuries were characterized as non-life-threatening.
Aurora police said a man went in the store just before noon Tuesday and asked to look at a cellphone. He returned it and left the store.
When he came back a short time later, he asked to see the phone again, and this time he ran out of the store with it, police said.
The pair left the injured employee behind and raced off in a mid-1990s, tan, four-door sedan with untinted windows.
Anyone with information can call Detective Nate Meier at 303-739-6147 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. There is a $2,000 reward.
