Niwot-based Crocs Inc. announced Thursday that John McCarvel, the company’s chief executive officer and president, was awarded the Stevie Award for turnaround executive of the year at the 2011 American Business Awards, which were held Monday.
McCarvel was cited for leading Crocs’ turnaround strategy over the past year, which helped the company return to profitable growth. Crocs’ stock has risen 122 percent in the past year.
McCarvel was named Crocs’ CEO and president in February 2010, after serving as the company’s chief operating officer and executive vice president.
