WILDWOOD, N.J.—A pair of mibsters from Pittsburgh have taken top honors at the 88th National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, N.J.
Eleven-year-old Bailey Narr credited her coaches with preparing her to win Thursday’s final. Brandon Matchett won the boys title.
Forty-seven boys and girls began the competition on Monday. The contestants were from West Virginia, Tennessee, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
The winners will receive $2,000 scholarships and trophies.
“Mibster” is the term for a marbles contestant. The goal of the game is to knock seven marbles out of a circle using a shooter marble.
