“Butch Cassidy Days” in Laramie.
The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site in Laramie will hold its seventh annual “Butch Cassidy Days” from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. The celebration will have many family and children’s activities including kids’ stick-horse rodeo, money hunt, trick roping, tractor rides, vintage car and tractor displays, children’s baseball toss, museum tours, skits and musical performances.
Free bluegrass concerts in Aspen.
Bluegrass Sundays, held on Aspen Mountain, offer free performances by top bluegrass musicians from Colorado and around the country. Concerts are noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays through Sept. 4. A few upcoming shows include the Flying Dog Bluegrass Band today; Defiance Stringband on July 3; and Equestrian Quartet on July 10.
Fourth of July in Breckenridge.
Breckenridge will host a number of activities to celebrate Independence Day. An art festival will be held July 2-4; an Independence Day Parade will take place on Main Street at 9:30 a.m. on July 4; Rusted Root plays a free concert at 2 p.m. on July 4 at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center; fireworks go off at 8:30 p.m., immediately after the National Repertory Orchestra concert, also at the Riverwalk Center.
“Yoga as medicine” festival.
The Village at Copper will host a weekend of professional development and relaxation, July 7-10, during the Mountain Pose Yoga Festival. The festival is meant to introduce medical professionals to “yoga as medicine” and to deepen the study and understanding for those providers already using yoga in their practices. More than 40 workshops and lectures will be available. A festival pass costs $290 and includes unlimited access to all workshops, classes and lectures. Single session rates are $25.
