Aurora police will be looking for curfew violators tonight, its second such operation this season.

Anyone under 18 years old cannot be out past 11 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

According to city ordinances, those under 18 cannot loiter past curfew on any street, alley, sidewalk, parking lot, park, outdoor recreation area or playground.

Violating curfew can lead to warning or a $25 fine. If the fine is not paid, the juvenile can be issued an outstanding judgment warrant that will mean a hold of their driver’s license.

Last year, officers issued 115 summonses for curfew violations, 80 of which were linked to criminal activity, according to police spokeswoman Cassidee Carlson.
