More than 3,000 cyclists are raising more than $3.4 million to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society this weekend through the 26th Great-West Life Bike MS ride.

The annual ride goes from Front Range Community College in Westminster to Colorado State University in Fort Collins and back.

The two-day, 150-mile tour is the third-largest cycling fundraiser for MS research in the country, according to the Colorado-Wyoming chapter of the national society.

Registration for the two-day event is closed, but riders can still take part in shorter 25- or 40-mile rides today. The shorter treks start and end in Fort Collins and cover a course of foothills, open space and farm communities.

Riders can register from 7:30 to 9 a.m. today by paying a $35 fee and at least $400 in donations. Registration is on the CSU campus near University and Meridian streets.
