A Denver man who pleaded guilty earlier this year in connection with the shaking death of his infant son was sentenced Friday to 35 years in prison.

Andrew Szeremy, 33, pleaded guilty in May to child abuse resulting in death and was facing a maximum term of 40 years.

On May 14, 2010, Denver Health paramedics and Denver police officers were dispatched to 3961 Rutgers Place on a report of a child not breathing.

The child, 7-month-old Noah Szeremy, was taken to Swedish Medical Center, where he died two days later.

The baby had been dropped off with Szeremy for visitation time at the time he was shaken and injured.
