DURANGO, Colo.—An injured boy has been rescued by helicopter from Engineer Mountain after he fell down a steep slope.

Emergency services director Butch Knowlton says companions had a cellphone and called the state patrol Thursday night.

Knowlton said the helicopter picked search-and-rescue volunteers up part way up Coal Bank Pass and airlifted them to the mountain, where they climbed up to the family, according to the Pueblo Chieftain. The boy’s identity and age were not available.
