LONGMONT — The city’s marijuana dispensaries have been told to close up shop, the Longmont Times Call reports.
City attorney Eugene Mei sent a “cease and desist” letter last week to seven medical-marijuana dispensaries, warning them to close their business by July 1.
A city ordinance that passed May 24 bans marijuana-related businesses from town, including dispensaries and grow operations.
The city ordinance allows up to a $500 fine and up to 90 days in jail for each day a medical marijuana-related business is kept open after the ban takes effect.
