Construction on the project begins Monday on the park, which will include play structures, basketball hoops, an artificial soccer field and an urban garden.
The head of a nonprofit group promoting land conservation says the project will cost about $650,000, and it will be paid for with grants
City officials and sponsors tell the Denver Post the park with serve immigrants from countries such as Somalia, Burma and Afghanistan and they hope it will give them a sense of belonging.
