St. Anthony Hospital announced today that it is planning to provide ongoing health care at the original St. Anthony Central Hospital Campus across from Sloan’s Lake in Denver.
A little over a week ago, the hospital moved from the Denver site to Lakewood, just west of the Federal Center.
However, officials said today that services will continue at the original campus. The services that are expected to be available at the Denver campus include urgent care, primary care, imaging, and specialty clinics.
Also available will be Health Passport, the community health education program started by St. Anthony Hospitals in 2003.
“As part of St. Anthony’s 119-year history and desire to provide access to quality health care and serve the community, St. Anthony Hospital and Centura Health are working to ensure that we continue to provide access to care and increased value with a St. Anthony health care presence at the site of our original campus,” said Dr. Ray Mencini, president and interim CEO.
St. Anthony, one of 13 Centura health hospitals in Colorado, said it is working with the Romani Group Inc., headed by Tim Romani, to find a buyer/developer who shares the same vision for the 18.85-acre Denver property.
The hospital said Romani will work with prospective buyers and developers to incorporate the continuing St. Anthony programs at the Denver campus.
Currently available at the Denver campus are primary care, cardiac rehab, outpatient rehab, specialty surgery practices and radiation therapy. They are being provided by St. Anthony Hospital associates and physicians.
However, some of these services will be transferred to the new St. Anthony campus in Lakewood once two medical office plazas adjacent to the new hospital open later this year or early next year, according to the hospital.
