Getting your player ready...

Want to gain some clubhead speed? Sure you do, and the Power Meter from Medicus may do the trick. This is a small electronic unit that attaches to the shaft of your club. It measures swing speeds and can be adjusted for both woods and irons. I added about 8 to 10 mph of swing speed to my driver over the winter. I accomplished this by hitting a ball, checking the speed, and then, for example, driving my right shoulder down harder at the ball on the next swing. My swing speed went up 3 mph. On the next ball, I pulled harder with my left side and I gained 2 more mph. This method of increasing your swing speed works very well, as long as you understand what you are doing. Just swinging the meter to see how high you can make it go won’t help. Solid contact still has its advantages over raw, misdirected speed. See the Power Meter at .
