A man and his grandson spotted a body in the pond at Denver’s Vanderbilt Park on Thursday afternoon. Homicide investigators have not yet determined how the man died or how long he had been in the water.

Denver police spokesman John White said the body was that of a Latino man. There were no signs of trauma. The man was not immediately identified, and homicide detectives will work the case at least until the medical examiner’s office determines a cause of death, White said.

The body was pulled from the pond near South Platte River Drive and West Tennessee Avenue, west of Interstate 25, at about 2:50 p.m.
