Getting your player ready...

On a morning where you may be itching to get out of town, Koelbel and Company has something to show you in Parker that may not be there after the picnic is over and the fireworks are shot: 20 brand new 2-bedroom/2-bath condos (word got out, and five are spoken for). Each home comes with fireplace, full appliances, and direct access to the Cherry Creek Trail, at prices from $99,000 to $115,000.

At 10 a.m., off Motsenbocker a mile south of Hess, Koelbel’s Silvio DeBartolomeis grand-opens a decorated 2-bedroom model at Hunter’s Chase, an attractive looking community that had been launched in 2005, its pretty pool-and-spa complex complete, when the market turned south, leaving 20 units un-built. Now San Diego developer Pathfinder Partners has finished those homes off, adding in some extra goodies to make sure they sell in today’s deal-conscious market.

As you tour (most homes are completed; a wing of optional garages is under way) you’ll see they’re nestled against Stroh Ranch Soccer Park, with trail leading from Hunter’s Chase onto the Cherry Creek Trail. You can peddle north 10 miles or south 7 miles without crossing a major street; while Parker Parks & Rec is looking ahead to a ‘Golden Spike’ moment when the trail spans 42 miles, Franktown to LoDo.

Meanwhile, these are very attractive – light coming from two sides on most, with upstairs homes (only one level of stairs from the street side) showing lots of vaulted space and high arched windows. Bedroom suites (most second bedrooms are configured to work as a second master) have box-outs and nooks and nice master baths with double vanity sinks. There are fireplaces and art niches in every home; and kitchens show a peninsular bar, spray faucet, full appliances including fridge, track lighting, and in some, maple cabinets with bump-ups.

Five are already reserved, but you can still hook onto the least expensive: a ‘garden level’ with 1,084 feet plus patio, $99,000; or the priciest penthouse – $115,000, 1,224 feet, lots of ceiling volume, big deck and park view. DeBartolomeis (he’ll have cupcakes) says the location shows Parker’s new connectivity to new Rueter-Hess Reservoir; to Hess Road (about to be cut through to I-25); directly accessible to Lincoln and new Ridgegate Parkway. Sales open at 10 with a free washer/dryer incentive, Motsenbocker at Stroh Road. From I-25 take Lincoln east 3 miles to Chambers, turn right 3 miles to Hess, east a mile to Motsenbocker, then south a mile. Or from Parker Road, head west on Stroh.
