Eight local governments in Colorado applied Thursday for state tax rebates to fund tourism-oriented projects.
The largest was $91.5 million from Aurora and Denver for a Gaylord hotel and National Western Stock Show complex in Aurora.
Others included a mix of tourism infrastructure projects in Montrose County; renovation of the Elkhorn Lodge and construction of a performing-arts center in Estes Park; an amphitheater, Olympic- sized swimming pool and bull-riding arena in Pueblo; a riverwalk entertainment district in Glendale; a youth sports village and archaeological preserve in Douglas County; and a cultural-arts district in Loveland.
