RALEIGH, N.C. — The Hurricanes signed free-agent defenseman Tomas Kaberle to a three-year, $12.75 million contract.

Carolina announced the signing Tuesday, shortly after it traded defenseman Joe Corvo to Boston for a draft pick.

The 33-year-old Kaberle was dealt from Toronto to Boston at the trading deadline and helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup.

Coyotes sign Yandle

GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Coyotes signed defenseman Keith Yandle to a five-year deal, locking up one of their top offseason priorities.

Financial terms were not released, but a person with knowledge of the contract told The AP that it was worth just over $26 million.
