NEW YORK — Manhattan prosecutors are scheduled to meet today with the lawyers for Dominique Strauss-Kahn to discuss whether the sexual-assault case against him can be resolved through a dismissal or a plea, according to a person briefed on the matter.
Prosecutors have said the case was weakened because of problems with the accuser’s credibility.
Also Tuesday, the accuser, a hotel housekeeper, filed a libel lawsuit against the New York Post for articles in which the paper called her a prostitute. A spokeswoman for the newspaper, Suzi Halpin, said, “We stand by our reporting.”
