July is often a slow retail month, a time to regroup and get ready for the next season. That’s the case at Cherry Creek Shopping Center, where construction activity is underway for several new stores, according to Dave Dixon, marketing and sponsorship director.

• Vail-based Slifer Designs, which is known for its high-end interior design work in resorts, will soon open a 6,600-square-foot retail showroom on the mall’s upper level. Slifer will sell home furnishings, accessories, gifts and housewares. The store will be arranged into room vignettes that will rotate weekly.

• Fans of the Danish jewelry brand Pandora will get to experience the company’s full wares on Tuesday when it is scheduled to open a 1,000- square-foot concept store on the center’s upper level across from the Apple store, according to Pandora spokeswoman Keshia Holland. The brand has been in the U.S. since 2003, and this will be the first Denver store. Until now, retailers such as Trice Jewelers have sold a selection of the company’s gold and silver charm jewelry, earrings, necklaces and rings, but the new store will have the full product line. Customers can build a starter bracelet for under $150, and charms range from $25 to $845. For Pandora’s yellow, white and rose gold items, pieces can go up to $1,990.

• For 160 years, Kiehl’s has sold skin, body, bath and hair products made from natural ingredients. The products’ simple packaging and straightforward text win it male and female fans. Ultimate Strength Hand Salve, Lip Balm #1 and Creme de Corps are among consumers’ favorites. Kiehl’s started as an apothecary in New York’s Lower East Side neighborhood, and its products are now offered worldwide. The company’s first Denver store is tentatively scheduled to open Aug. 11, says spokeswoman Rachael Kelley.

• Also at the mall, several stores are remodeling, including Ann Taylor and Diesel, according to Dixon.
