ATLANTA—About 200 teens and adults will gather in Atlanta this weekend as part of a national youth-led movement to champion the outdoors.
Outdoor Nation is holding a summit at Clark Atlanta University starting Friday, the second stop on a national tour this year. Other cities include New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Denver.
Delegates will discuss regional outdoor issues and come up with projects to help get more young people outside. The delegates will vote on what they think are the best ideas and will get a $10,000 grant to complete the projects.
Outdoor Nation is also hosting a free event at Sweetwater Creek State Park outside Atlanta on Saturday.
The Atlanta summit is sponsored by Clark Atlanta and the state’s park system.
