Two men were killed and several others were injured in a shooting melee that broke out near a Colorado Springs bowling alley, authorities say.

The names of the shooting victims have not been released pending notification of family members.

Police were called at about 1:55 a.m. to the 800 block of Tia Juana St. near the Brunswick Bowling alley, according to a news release.

But by the time police arrived, those involved in the shooting were gone, the news release said.

Police soon learned that several people with multiple gunshot wounds had arrived at Memorial Hospital. The injured had been at the Tia Juana Street gun battle.

First one of the shooting victims died and then later this morning a second was pronounced dead.

Other victims at the hospital that are in stable condition.

No suspects have been identified.

The investigation of the shooting is still early but it appears the conflict may have begun at the bowling alley, according to a news release.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office is conducting an autopsy.
