Three children were rescued from the St. Vrain River near Roger’s Grove on Saturday.
Longmont emergency manager Dan Eamon said children were playing in the river when the water got too high.
Members of the Longmont Emergency Unit and the Boulder Emergency Squad were on standby at Roger’s Grove for Rhythm on the River, a two-day music and arts festival, and quickly threw ropes to the children and pulled them out, Eamon said. No in-water rescue was needed, he said.
Eamon said the children were not visitors to Rhythm on the River.
“It ended really well,” Eamon said. “It was a good thing that we had those agencies on standby for the event.”
