A team of 20 to 25 law enforcement officers and rescue workers are searching Clear Creek Canyon near Golden for a Denver woman reported missing Sunday.
Denver police received a call from a friend saying that Amy Ahonen, 38, was missing. She was last seen at her home near East 41st Avenue and Albion Street on Friday, the day before her birthday.
At 10:45 p.m. Friday, the Colorado State Patrol found Ahonen’s black Jeep Liberty in Clear Creek Canyon on U.S. 6 near Tunnel Three. Police did not see anyone near the car and tagged it to be towed.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and the Alpine Rescue Team searched the area Sunday evening and Monday.
