A stormy July kept pace Monday as thunderstorms and lightning rumbled through the metro area for a fifth day in a row.

Lightning was cited as the probable cause of a fire that heavily damaged a home in Lone Tree on Monday. No one was home when the bolt hit the home at 7537 LeBrun Court at 5:14 p.m., according to the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority.

Lightning also delayed flights for up to 30 minutes at Denver International Airport on Monday afternoon.
