PUEBLO, Colo.—Pueblo police say a man who was stabbed may have pulled out his own stomach.
Jesus Gutierrez told police a woman in a passing vehicle stabbed him on Sunday. He says when he looked down, he saw something hanging out of his body. He says he pulled it out and threw it on the ground.
Police Sgt. Eric Bravo told the Pueblo Chieftain that police recovered the man’s stomach, but doctors said it could not be reattached.
Gutierrez was listed in serious condition at Parkview Medical Center.
Shereen Jeannette Nieves was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. She was being held in Pueblo County jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
