DENVER—Quarter-size hail has pelted parts of the Denver area and people living in wildfire-scarred mountainsides west of Boulder are being warned to be ready to move to higher ground as thunderstorms again roll through Colorado.
Boulder County officials say one home has been damaged by debris after about 2 inches of rain fell in less than an hour in Fourmile Canyon. Some roads are closed by water and debris in the canyon where a wildfire burned thousands of acres last fall, stripping trees and other vegetation off mountainsides.
In the Denver area, water was over the curb on some streets.
Flood advisories were issued for spots along the South Platte River in northern Colorado, the Colorado River in northwest Colorado and the Blue River in the central mountains.
