Getting your player ready...

Ryan Spilborghs made the most of his Thursday night. Filling in for injured Carlos Gonzalez in center field, Spilborghs led off the Rockies’ first with a solo home run high off the left-field foul pole. It was his third homer this season. He finished 4-for-6 with four RBIs and tied a career high with four hits.

To say new Rockies second baseman Mark Ellis is thriving at Coors Field would be an understatement. He went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, leaving his LoDo average at .500 (10-for-20). He has 10 RBIs in four games at Coors.

Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder needed the help of some borrowed eyewear. With a bright ray of sun beaming in from left field, Fielder went to the Brewers’ bench looking for relief. Unable to find his own sunglasses, he borrowed a pair from a fan seated near the Brewers’ dugout.
