Emily Griffith Technical College will celebrate 95 years since it launched a school for “all who wish to learn” with a gala event Sept. 9 at the Seawell Grand Ballroom.
The event and silent auction seek to raise $95,000 for scholarships and instructional materials for the former “opportunity school” that opened its doors in 1916 under principal Emily Griffith.
The institution, which is part of the Denver Public Schools, offers more than 40 certificate programs and 12 trade apprenticeships serving an enrollment of about 10,000.
