Perkins & Marie Callender’s Inc., which filed plans of reorganization and a disclosure statement today, has closed four Perkins restaurants in Colorado and 27 Perkins nationally.

It also closed 31 Marie Callender’s nationally, company spokewoman Vivian Brooks said today.

The company closed all three Perkins locations in Colorado Springs and the Perkins at 3244 S. Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood.

There are still nine Perkins locations in Colorado. They include one Perkins each in Arvada, Golden, Westminster, Denver, Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and two in Loveland.

The only remaining Marie Callender’s in Colorado was unaffected by the closures, according to Robert Grisham, owner and operator of the Marie Callender’s franchise at South Broadway and East Dry Creek Road.

Grisham has owned and operated that Marie Callender’s for 21 years and is celebrating his 40th anniversary with the company.

Brooks said she did not have any information regarding future closings.

J. Trungale, president and CEO of Perkins & Marie Callender’s, said the company expects “to emerge from its financial restructuring in a significantly strengthened financial position.”
