The aspens were quaking above a grassy carpet of bluebells and paintbrush, as Beth Melling talked about the new townhouse where she’s entertaining grandchildren this summer, a mile from Central City Opera House. “We were done with yard work,” she said. “Once we got inside these and saw the workmanship, we were so surprised. Marketing director Rita Lee (she was writing another sale as we talked) says some Prospectors Run buyers are reaching for a low-priced second resort home, while others are after a permanent retirement residence. “But they’re all placing themselves between two kinds of fun that only Central City has,” Lee added. “On the one side, you get an ever-better range of casinos and other attractions, and on the other, the great scenery.”
