A water main break at West Florida Avenue and South Lowell Boulevard overnight has forced the closure of the intersection today.
Denver Water spokeswoman Stacy Chesney said a 16-inch main broke around midnight and 25 homes were without water this morning.
Repairs to the water main were completed at about 5 p.m., but pressure problems after a secondary leak meant that the homes would still be without water for another five to six hours.
The intersection will remain closed until tomorrow afternoon — later than the expected re-opening tonight — until crews can repair the road.
