Police ended a standoff Saturday night by forcibly entering a hotel room in Castle Rock and apprehending an armed man.
No injuries were reported as police arrested Steven Qualley, 33, of Castle Rock at the Quality Inn near Eighth and Park streets about 9 p.m.
City spokeswoman Kim Mulcher said authorities used four explosives to blow open the door of the hotel room and threw flash bangs into the room. Police found Qualley hiding underneath a dresser.
Qualley faces outstanding warrants for kidnapping, assault and theft in Adams and Douglas counties.
An hour earlier, a man and a woman who were in the hotel room with Qualley left the room and surrendered to police. Authorities did not identify the two individuals.
