A University of Colorado student was arrested over the weekend after campus police said he used a skateboard to smash vehicles near the loading dock of the University Memorial Center and bit an officer who was trying to subdue him, CU police Cmdr. Tim McGraw said.
Neil Martin Montgomery, 20, was booked into the Boulder County Jail early Sunday morning on suspicion of second-degree assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer and underage drinking.
According to a police report, police received a report of criminal mischief in the area of the UMC loading dock around midnight Saturday, McGraw said. When officers arrived, they saw a man smashing the windows and body of five or six vehicles belonging to the university and the catering company that work out of the UMC, causing about $7,000 in damage.
McGraw said Montgomery became combative with officers and bit one of them on the arm hard enough to draw blood. According to the report, Montgomery smelled strongly of alcohol.
