Three shootings killed at least three people within three hours in Colorado Springs and had police scrambling. At 11:45 p.m., police said on Twitter that they had gone to Priority One status and were taking only emergency calls.

The violence began about 8 p.m., when at least one person was killed and a second critically wounded during an apparent attempted robbery at an AutoZone near Palmer Park and Powers boulevards, The Gazette reported. Police launched a manhunt for two suspects, and there were unconfirmed reports of a hostage.

Less than two hours later, a man was shot at an apartment complex after a shootout with officers near Murray and Airport Boulevard, KRDO-TV reported. It was unknown whether he shot himself or was shot by officers.

Before 11 p.m., a third shooting was reported farther north, near Fint ridge and Montebello. At least two people were reported dead, according to The Gazette.
