Denver police today released a composite sketch of a man suspected of assaulting a woman early Sunday in the 2200 block of South Broadway.

Police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the man walked with a distinctive limp, possibly from an injury. The man also drives a white vehicle.

“Hopefully, with this sketch, the description of his walk and of his vehicle, someone knows this person and will help us get this person off the street,” Jackson said.

The woman was walking alone between 1:15 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. when she was grabbed from behind. She felt a sharp sting, and was possibly struck by a stun gun, police said.

She was still able to fight off her assailant and escape after he tried to drag her into an alley.

The man is described as Hispanic or white, in his 20s, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and had a black goatee.

Police are investigating whether the same man might have attacked a woman near North Lincoln Street and East 11th Avenue early Monday, as well.

Anyone with information can call Denver police at 720-913-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tips also can be sent by text message to CRIMES with the title DMCS, or e-mailed to .
