BAGHDAD — A double bombing Thursday struck an Iraqi bank in Saddam Hussein’s hometown where policemen were picking up their paychecks, killing 12 and wounding 34 people, officials said.
The two midmorning blasts — one from a suicide bomber, the other from a car bomb — marked the fourth major attack this year on Iraqi security forces in the northern city of Tikrit.
