A 73-year-old Grand Junction man was killed in an ATV crash on the Western Slope today.
His name has not been released.
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office said he was working with an ATV club on trail improvement 7.2 miles southeast of Vega Reservoir near Battlement Mesa at the time of the crash.
“We are unable to say if the gentleman died from injuries when his ATV flipped or whether he had a medical event causing him to lose control,” Mesa County chief deputy coroner Kim Hollingshead said in an e-mail.
An autopsy will be performed Friday, she said.
