A state computer outage was restored at 3 p.m., after a day of frustration for customers and staff of the Colorado Motor Vehicle Department.
The outage has resulted in a shutdown of title work and registration renewals at some offices, according to a media release from the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder.
All networks and connectivity was restored this afternoon, said Mark Couch, spokesman for the Colorado Department of Revenue.
The disruptions are spotty, with some offices being hit and others not, he said.
The cause hasn’t been determined.
“There was nothing specific I saw that said it was a virus or anything like that,” Couch said of the 28-year-old network. “This system is just old.”
