A 34-year-old man walked away with only minor injuries after he fell about 30 feet in Eldorado Canyon State Park on Wednesday.
The man fell at about 3 p.m. while climbing the Taggers route along the face of the Wind Tower formation, according to Sgt. Bill Crist, a spokesman for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
The man had only a twisted ankle along with some cuts and bruises. Initially, the hiker and a companion tried to cross a nearby river to the roadway on their own, but they called for help when they had difficulty crossing.
Deputies responded to the scene and were able to get the hikers to their vehicle. The victim was taken to Boulder Community Hospital for further evaluation.
