DENVER—An Army general nominated to lead the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the U.S. Northern Command in Colorado says cyber security is critical to the Department of Defense and national security.
Lt. Gen. Charles Jacoby said NORTHCOM must be prepared to protect its resources and provide support in the event of an attack.
Colorado Sen. Mark Udall told Jacoby during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that he will work with Jacoby on those issues and on a program to coordinate National Guard and federal troops to respond to a natural disaster.
