History Day at the Kauffman House Museum in Grand Lake will take place Saturday. Come see colorful figures in costume and in character re-enact Colorado pioneer life.

The 43rd annual Palisade Peach Festival will take place Aug. 18-21. Attractions include food, entertainment, contests, activities for kids, an amusement carnival and opportunities to explore Palisade.
Cars, carving and art.
The Car, Carving & Art Weekend will take place Aug. 18-21 in Gunnison. The 24th annual Gunnison Car Show joins up with the High Octane Arts & Crafts Festival, and Carvin’ Up Colorado event, where approximately a dozen wood carvers from around the country transform tree stumps into works of art that will be on permanent display at community sites. or 800-814-8893
Copper Country Arts Festival.
The Copper Country Arts Festival takes place Sept. 2-4. Exhibitors will show both traditional and contemporary works. In addition, a Fine Arts Exhibition will be open for visitors to browse. Admission to both festivals is free and open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
