WRAY, Colo.—More than 40 malnourished horses have been seized by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

Undersheriff Matt Hardesty says the horses were removed from a breeding and training facility south of Yuma that had about 150 horses, but the others appeared to be healthy.

Hardesty says the department has begun a criminal investigation, but no charges have been filed, according to KUSA-TV.
