DENVER—A debt elimination company has agreed to stop marketing its programs in Colorado to settle a dispute with state officials.

Attorney General John Suthers says the agreement prevents David Burke and his companies from marketing debt elimination programs or turning over people who have not paid for the program to collections agencies.

The attorney general also seized assets and required Burke to pay back more than $200,000 to customers.

Suthers said the company did nothing to help customers settle their debts.
