Denver’s string of 90-degree heat continued today as temperatures reached 91 degrees, just above the predicted 88 degrees.

On July 15, the high was 90 degrees, followed by 14 days of high temperatures of 90 degrees or above, according to the National Weather Service.

The record for consecutive days with highs at 90 degrees or above is 24 days, set in 2008.

The hottest day in the past two weeks was July 22 with a high of 96 degrees.The hottest day so far this month – and this summer – was July 4, when the thermometer read 99 degrees.

Today, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.

Temperatures will dip into the 60s tonight, with a low around 65 degrees and winds out of the southwest.

The heat will return on Saturday with mostly sunny skies and a predicted high near 96 degrees.

Afternoon rains may return Saturday afternoon, with a 10 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m.

Saturday night may be cloudy with a low near 68 degrees.

Sunday will mimic Saturday, with a high near 96 degrees and a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
